For easier disabling of Bluetooth, enable the setting Settings  Downloads > Open Bluetooth Settings in the watch app. This will automatically open the Bluetooth settings when you download a podcast then open them again when all downloads complete.
Long-press on a play button in the phone app to start playback on the watch. Same with starting an episode on the phone from the watch.

You can customize the screen saver in the watch app (Settings > Screen Saver). The screen saver is a low-powered display that shows when your watch is idle.
You can enable a progress bar on the playing screen under Settings > Display > Progress Bar.
If you are in the middle of a podcast and haven't listened in awhile, there is a setting called "Reminder Time" (Settings > Playback > Reminder Time) where you can skip back to remind yourself where you left off
If you frequently set a sleep timer, you can set a time period when the sleep timer will automatically start (Settings > Playback > Auto Sleep Timer). If the sleep timer stops during the time period and playback is resumed a new sleep timer will start.
There is a Sleep Timer setting that will stop playback when your device detects you have fallen asleep. Due to battery optimizations, it's not guaranteed to work on your watch.
You can have custom volume levels for each podcast (Settings > Playback > Volume Level). Whenever you change the volume every episode of that podcast will play at that level. Also works for custom files and single episodes sent with the phone app.
